Today’s board
Four kinds of hotel,
chalked up in one place
A chalkboard index of hotels worth writing up. Nothing is ranked and nothing is sold. Each entry answers a plain question: what is this building actually like to stay in?
How to read it
Three lines before you start
What is here
Eleven hotels across four categories, each written up on its own terms. The list is short because every entry is written rather than scraped.
How an entry works
A short line first, then prose about the building, the setting and the shape of a stay. A fact line closes it off.
What is not here
No prices, no availability, no star ratings, no reviews and no booking desk. Nothing on this board is for sale.

Why the board stays short
The board changes when there is something worth changing it for. Entries are written from the character of each property — where it stands, how it is built, what a night there is organised around. Prices, availability and reviews belong elsewhere; this is a reading list, not a reservation system.
If a hotel here has changed enough that the write-up no longer fits, tell us and we will wipe that part of the board. Contact.
